Connect PT and Beyond Update
With our Phase 1a status, we’re pleased all Connect staff had a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. We appreciate the science that, with extraordinary efforts by researchers, made this possible!
We trust our team’s COVID-19 vaccinations help everyone feel even more comfortable with in-person care. Because your safety is vital, we continue to use PPE and all other precautions.
As we look ahead, we want to continue finding ways to genuinely partner with you to live your most wholehearted life. Researcher Brene’ Brown identifies the components of a wholehearted life as including: Compassion, Connection and Courage. Here’s what that means at Connect:
Compassion: Too much healthcare today is corporatized. Too often, it’s transactional, with bottom lines not leaving room for personal connection. Connect is an independent practice. This means we have the luxury of prioritizing our values - and compassionate care loudly resonates with us! We love it when social science and medical science research intersect. So, we encourage you to listen to a podcast about the crisis of compassion in healthcare. It will help you understand “the why” driving where Connect is going - and to know there is no compassion crisis at Connect! freakonomics.com/podcast/compassionomics/
Connection: It’s in our DNA, it’s who we are and we have an updated website to make our connection easier. Plus, it’s a platform for even more interaction with you in the future! Find more information about what makes a Connect experience special - www.connectoregon.com/
Courage: A core Connect value is: Invest in every person because every story matters. Indeed, it is brave to admit you need help with something or that you don’t know what next to do. Connect wants to hear your story and to help you create the path to live your best life, achieve your goals, tackle the seemingly impossible. This is why we started Beyond PT and will continue to build out offerings for you to engage. Currently, Beyond PT offers medically-based lifestyle classes in Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi, Return to Run, Prehab and Osteoporosis Education. If you’re not sure what is medically appropriate for you, give us a call and one of our 6 PT’s can help you make that decision.
Through our Better Together program, this month’s Connect charity donation to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was submitted by Lorri Kehoe, a friend of Connect PT and Beyond. Talk about compassion as a mission, CASA is awesome! Here’s to the year ahead - may we all be better together in health, peace and joy!
Remain nimble, courageous and loving!
