Diane Shiffer, CMPT
Orthopedic PT and Mind/Body Integration
Diane Shiffer combines deep clinical expertise with a passion for empowering others on their health and wellness journeys. She earned her degree in Biology from Willamette University and completed her Physical Therapy education at the University of Puget Sound. Diane has maintained her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification from the American Physical Therapy Association since 1992.
With over 30 years in orthopedic physical therapy and small business leadership, I’ve built a career at the intersection of clinical excellence, personalized care, and innovative health solutions. As the founder of Connect & Beyond Physical Therapy, I now bring my deep expertise in movement science into the world of health coaching, designing and delivering programs that help individuals move beyond recovery into sustainable wellbeing.
Board-certified as a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT), I’ve spent decades guiding patients through complex care. That experience now informs my work as a coach and program architect, where I blend lifestyle-based exercise, education, and behavior change science to support clients in achieving their long-term health goals.
Rooted in evidence and fueled by connection, I lead with purpose: to create coaching experiences that are both impactful and personalized. Whether working one-on-one or developing scalable wellness offerings, my focus is on delivering coaching with the same standard of excellence I’ve brought to the clinic for years—grounded, intentional, and deeply client-centered.
Diane continues to grow her skill set with innovative, evidence-based approaches. She is certified in MELT Hand & Foot instruction, a gentle self-treatment method that supports pain relief and performance. Introduced to the MELT Method by instructor Kim Reis several years ago, Diane quickly recognized its value and has loved incorporating this powerful self-care tool into her practice.
A dedicated leader in the physical therapy field, Diane has served as an Active Delegate, Vice President, and member of the Oregon Physical Therapy Association's nominating committee.
Outside of work, Diane enjoys giving back through volunteer work and staying active with activities such as swimming, hiking, yoga, and gardening. She loves traveling with her husband, Alan, and cherishes time with her son, Rob, and daughter-in-law, Marisa.
