Shannon Coffel Vial, BA, NCPT
Pilates Teacher

Shannon brings decades of experience in the fitness industry and a deep appreciation for the power of mindful movement. Her path to Pilates began in the mid-1990s when, after years of teaching aerobics and traditional strength training, she personally experienced the restorative benefits of the Pilates method while recovering from an injury. That experience sparked a lasting commitment to helping others move with greater strength, balance, and awareness.
In 1997, Shannon completed her comprehensive training in both mat and equipment-based Pilates with Deborah Lessen at Greene Street Studio in New York City. After several years living and working in New York, she returned home to Lake Oswego and introduced Pilates at the athletic club she owned, helping bring the method to the local community.
Shannon is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) and remains committed to ongoing learning with respected Pilates and movement professionals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Marylhurst University, with a focus on Gerontology and Mind-Body Wellness, and additional fitness certifications through the American Council on Exercise and Human Kinetics.
In her classes, Shannon emphasizes thoughtful, controlled movement and body awareness. She most hopes participants leave feeling a greater sense of confidence, calm, and connection—both in their bodies and in their daily lives.
