Marie Long, PT, COMT
Physical Therapist | Pelvic Floor Specialist | Manual-Manipulative Therapist

Marie brings more than two decades of experience in orthopedic physical therapy, with advanced training in manual therapy and pelvic floor rehabilitation. She earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University in 2002, where her training emphasized osteopathic manual therapy techniques. She has continued to refine these skills through extensive post-graduate coursework with the North American Institute of Manual Therapy and completed her Certification in Orthopedic Manual-Manipulative Therapy (COMT).
Marie’s clinical work focuses on helping people restore comfortable, efficient movement when pain, injury, or surgery has disrupted the body’s normal patterns. She commonly works with individuals experiencing spinal conditions, headaches, upper cervical dysfunction, and a wide range of orthopedic concerns affecting the extremities. She particularly enjoys helping patients address chronic tissue injuries, post-surgical restrictions, and movement limitations that develop when the body adapts to pain or impaired healing.
In addition to orthopedic care, Marie has completed training through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. She works with individuals experiencing conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, constipation, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, and interstitial cystitis. Her pelvic health practice focuses on conditions related to female pelvic anatomy.
Marie’s overall approach integrates education, exercise, behavioral strategies, manual therapy, and pelvic floor techniques tailored to each individual’s needs. She strives to create a welcoming, respectful environment for people of all genders seeking care.
Marie believes strongly in patient empowerment, helping people understand their bodies and develop practical tools to manage symptoms and maintain long-term health. She works collaboratively with patients to build individualized care plans that combine hands-on treatment, movement strategies, and self-care techniques to support lasting improvement.
Outside the clinic, Marie enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, tackling house projects, traveling, scuba diving, spending time with her dogs, and continuing to learn through reading and professional education.
Favorite Place to Recharge: Destinations with crystal-clear water where she can share bubbles with the fish while scuba diving.
