A lifelong runner with more than 50 years of distance-running experience, DeeAnn has a deep understanding of the demands on the body during training and competition. She is a USA Track & Field Level II Long Distance Running Coach and spent 20 years coaching both beginning and advanced Portland Marathon Training Clinics, helping runners develop strength, resilience, and sustainable training habits.
In addition to her clinical work, DeeAnn has studied Iyengar yoga since 1989 and has been teaching yoga since 2000. Her classes emphasize body awareness, alignment, strength, flexibility, balance, and relaxation skills. DeeAnn’s experience in both physical therapy and yoga allows her to help people better understand how their bodies move and how thoughtful alignment can support both performance and long-term well-being.
DeeAnn teaches progressive Alignment Yoga Courses on a trimester basis and drop-in Yoga classes in the summer. Across both care and classes, DeeAnn approaches each person as a unique individual, helping them develop greater body awareness and movement efficiency so they can continue doing the activities they enjoy.
Outside the clinic, DeeAnn enjoys spending time outdoors running, mountain biking, and hiking. When indoors, she loves reading books and watching movies.
