FOUNDATIONS OF
STRENGTH TRAINING
You've heard that strength training is one of the best things you can do for your long-term health - but knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.
At Connect & Beyond, we believe strength training should be safe, effective, and built on a strong foundation. Our Foundations of Strength Training Course is designed to help you build confidence, improve movement quality, and develop proper lifting technique in a supportive, Physical Therapist-led environment.
Whether you're brand new to strength training or looking to build on previous experience, this progressive course provides the guidance and individualized instruction you need to move well, get stronger, and prepare for our Advanced Strength Training Class.
Improving and maintaining strength is one of the most important investments you can make in your healthspan, helping you stay active, independent, and capable for years to come.

Course Details
45-minute classes | 1-month series | 8 progressive classes
Throughout the course you'll learn and practice:
-
Core engagement and stability for lifting and everyday movement
-
Shoulder, hip, and low back stability
-
Thoracic spine (mid-back) mobility
-
Foundational movement patterns, including the hip hinge and overhead press
-
Strength training using bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, kettlebells, trainer barbells, and progressive resistance
-
Proper technique for bench press, deadlift, squat, and overhead press
Because each class builds on the previous one, the course is designed to be completed as a series. Participants register for all eight classes together rather than attending individual sessions.
If you've previously only completed Strengthening 1.0, this course is the next step. It includes the material that was formerly covered in Strengthening 2.0 and will prepare you to transition into our Advanced Strength Training Class (formerly Strengthening 3.0).
